Newcastle 2 Liverpool 0 – The dream keeps going for toon fans

It truly has been a remarkable season so far for the Toon faithful. Many pundits thought Newcastle would struggle this season and possibly rightly so. Last seasons three best players in Nolan, Barton and Enrique an earlier the sale of Carroll made it look like Newcastle had sold arguably their best 4 players which got them to the Premiership and cemented a place back in the league.

However a summer transfer period later and the above players are a distant memory to the Toon faithful. Tim Krul is now possibly the best goalkeeper in the Premiership or at worst one of the top 3 with Petr Cech and Jo Hart being the other two.

Tiote is clearly the best DMC in the game at the moment and its no wonder there is talk of “Name you price” from some of the so-called TOP SIDES this summer. Then Cabaye. The french master pulling the box to box strings alongside the mercurial french winger Hatem Ben Arfa who is now looking like the player we first signed after his length layoff due to injury.

The signing of the season undoubtedly is Demba Ba. 1) because he was FREE and 2) because he one of the leading top goalscorers in the premiership and now provider to the man of the moment Papis Cisse.

Things are looking up for Newcastle indeed.

The match itself had its highlights but for me watching Steven Gerrard shooing king kenny off the pitch when deciding who was going in nets after Pepe head butted Perch to get sent off was the highlight for me. I chuckled for at least 5 minutes .

I just hope Newcastle keep the players they have and purchase 1 or two more key players to help with next seasons Champions League push would be nice.

SIDE NOTE – Liverpool fans please grow up FFS. We’ve all gone through bad patches at least you were not relegated like we were when you’ve had a bad run so just take it on the chin and jog on.

  1. Newcastle really are going from strength to strength, it’s nice to see. It’s hard to think Pardew is actually quite a good manager! Some of the players that you are scouting too are up and coming stars. The scouting system at Newcastle certainly has improved big time! Especially from the deals last summer.

    • Hi, and thanks for your reply . It’s nice to know someone read my blog. Your right Carr has certainly been a great scout. I’m surprised other clubs havent come in for him yet. He’s proved for the last few seasons t oreally know what players to go for. Fingers crossed he keeps getting it right.
